My Landlord wants to increase rent effective immediately because the "condo association fee is increasing." Is this legal?
Post Body

We've been renting this apartment for almost 2 years. The first 12 months were the initial lease, with a paragraph (copied below) about how the place would be subsequently managed if we stayed. We currently pay $1650 monthly for rent, but our landlord called us today and said rent is increasing to $1800 next month. In the contract it says: "If Tenants continue to occupy the Premises after the expiration of this Lease without having entered into a new Agreement with Landlord in writing, such occupancy shall be on a month-to-month basis at such rental as may be fixed by Landlord from time to time, but otherwise upon the same terms, provisions, and conditions set forth herein. This paragraph shall not give Tenants the right to holdover at the expiration of the term hereof without Landlord’s permission." We live in Cleveland, Ohio. Is this legal?
