Good evening
Was unsure if this is the right sub, but I wanted advice on spotting scams while on the job market.
Earlier today I received an email from someone from a company (which apparently does exist, according to my research, but info is relatively sparse. I will come back to this) that found my resume on Indeed.com. I did not apply for this position but I suppose they found me.
There is a brief job description but it did not list certain requirements, such as experience or education.
The man asked me if I had any interest and I said yes. We set up a time for someone from the company to call me tomorrow (Friday at 11 am). I have not shared any credit card info, routing numbers, SS... etc and I will not, don't worry.
Alarm bells:
The website for the company is trademarked way back in 2011 and I found a misspelling. There is a link to a brochure but the link is broken.
When Googling the company I did find some profiles of some employees on LinkedIn, especially the president of the company (who had a huge resume, including recommendations from people dating back to 2009 and experience at major corporations). But, the company does not have a Facebook page, Twitter account or any other social media presence outside of a LinkedIn page.
They supposedly have locations in multiple places and do business in the US and Europe, facilitating ad impressions each day. In some internship postings they list major clients.
I find some records of the business on a few websites but nothing extensive. Considering they are supposed to do their business in internet advertising, the company's name should be all over the place, right? Why aren't they on the BBB's website?
They found me, I didn't find them. This is apparently a red flag.
The guy in the email conversation did not directly answer when I asked for more info about the company and what my duties would be. I will ask all of this and more when on the phone, including demanding an in-person, on-location interview. I won't agree to jack on the phone otherwise.
Am I being paranoid? Is there anything I can check or do outside of the advice in these two links:

Sorry about the rambling. Just feel anxious about the whole thing.
