[MO] Is it legal for my employer to schedule me less hours because I'm getting holiday pay?

So, my employer is deliberately scheduling several of its full-time (34 hours/week) employees an extra day off the week of July 4th so that come paycheck time they only have to pay you for 40 hours instead of 48 hours. I was just wondering if this was legal for them to do.
