My (now deceased) Grandfather claims that the German government took his family fortune and nationalized the family business after WWI. Just for fun, is there anything that they legally owe our family now? (assuming we could prove it)
Post Body

I remember my grandfather telling me this story 7-8 years ago about how his father (or grandfather) had a company worth millions (at the time) and that the company and a large part of the funds were taken by the Government. I never considered my grandfather a lair, and he talked about the family business before, so assuming I could research this and prove that it happened, could we ask the German Government for reparations?

(edit) I'm Canadian, my Grandfather came over after losing the war.
