Harassment charge. What do I do?
Post Body

My Ex girlfriend called the cops on me after I knocked on her door. I just wanted to negotiate and recover my property. We lived together for 2 years. I have recovered most of my things, but there is still quite a bit of my property at her house, if she hasn’t thrown it all away.

I have been blocked on the phone, but I was able to *67 and call her. She never picked up. It has been 6 months since I’ve had any communication with her. She just ignores me.

I decided to visit her house to try to negotiate.

I waited for the cops to arrive, kept my cool, didn’t use any rude or threatening language. There was absolutely no escalation from me. Body cams will show that to be true. Police checked my phone and saw that I tried to contact her previously. Police threatened me with a felony if I try to contact her again.

I was arrested, spent the weekend in jail. I was able to post bond. Waiting on a court date. Still yet to get in touch with my attorney(court appointed). I have no prior criminal record.

I still have not been able to retrieve my stuff. Over $1000 worth of property is still being withheld by my ex.

I understand why I was arrested. It’s not cool for me to show up at anyone’s house if they don’t want me there. I feel terrible about that, but how am I supposed to recover my property? Does she just get to keep it?
