Hello! Our mother-in-law is physically disabled, and although her speech is impaired she is still sound of mind and fully aware of her surroundings. That being said, she has expressed the desire to leave home and get away from her husband. Her husband is a chronic alcoholic, and we have feared for her and our safety on numerous occasions.

We(my husband and I) are capable of taking care of her, but we currently do not have a place to live;we live in the same house as my mother/father in law. We are planning on finding a new place to live asap, but our biggest priority is to get her out and away first and foremost. We may need to do this with the assistance of the police, since he will likely flip out and possibly harm us if we try to leave. Any and all legal advice about our precarious situation is much appreciated.
