Got fired for inappropriate comment, considering hostile work environment?

Post Body

So I've been dealing with a lot of stress at work. We're moving buildings from a location to another location in the city and there's a lot of equipment to be moved and a lot of logistics to be done, but also I have to perform all of my other duties as well, i.e monthly maintenance plans, repairs troubleshooting, setup, calibration. The stress started to get to me and I really felt like Milton from from the movie Office Space (1999) " I just want my stapler." Anyways, the comment involved a quote from that movie where Milton says under his breath. He can't wait till he burns this place down. I said it, somebody heard it. Now I'm fired. But this doesn't address all of the stress that I was feeling not just with the move.

My supervisor seemed to have it out for me for the past 2 years making offhand comments treating me like his child. Sending me text messages when I make mistakes like "WTF" and "are you kidding me". making comments in the meetings, he says to the group, but I know are directed at my actions, fear-mongering just a whole general I'm going to get you vibe. Texting only me, " what are you doing" " where you at" and if I didn't answer with what he expected he would give me a whole lecture. I had meetings with HR 4 times with seemingly no consequence. Nothing seemed to get done afterwards. I had two meetings with my manager about his comments and his inappropriate behavior and his words were. "This is me. I'm just going to do it again". This created a hostile work environment where I would fear I'd always be doing the wrong thing and he would catch me, even though I was always doing something with my job, and lecture me that I didn't meet his expectations. Other employees felt this way too. Mentioning to me that he's made other strange comments to them and also seeing the way he treated me.

So, I'm kinda asking myself is it worth it to go after them? because I don't really have a lot of money for a lawyer. I plan on getting another job, possibly out of the country. I also have dependents. So is it really worth it or should I focus on the future?
