For context, Iām 21M, and I live in North GA, USA. Iāve never met my biological father, Iāve been told growing up about my bio father bring abusive to my mother and just being an asshole in general to the point that I was heavily shielded from him. And Iāve heard corresponding things from my siblings on his side.
Heās tried to contact me for years, to which Iāve ignored. This morning a deputy sheriff shows up at my front door and asks my grandfather āDoes OP live here?ā To which he confirmed. The deputy said āhis bio dad called and wants to see if he can get his phone numberā to which my grandfather denied. The deputy left with no issue. I called the sheriffs office to confirm the call and they said thatās something they do.
My concern is, now my bio dad knows where I live (at least Iām aware of that now anyways), and I do feel a concern for myself and my family. Do I have any options here? A restraining order here in GA requires more evidence than what I have to my knowledge. But Iām just curious. For now, Iāve messaged him on Facebook and asked him to not try to contact me in any way shape or form anymore, and then blocked him back, just to establish that communication trail.
