Should I still recommend my mother in law gets a divorce attorney even if it’s a little late?
Post Body

[CA] My MiL is going through something with her husband, it’s a little messy and he doesn’t at all want to give her what he should be. She’s japanese and wasnt born here so she’s not super familiar with the legal system and so anything her current husband says she just goes along with.

They’ve been pretty much forced to move out of their house (in a few weeks) and have to move to Japan (mom, and all siblings), but i feel like even if it’s late in their situation it would still help to make a more informed decision about whether or not they have to move or they have a chance at staying.

Would it just be a waste of money to have a professional look at the current divorce settlement that he sent my MiL (he pretty much put what he wanted) if theyre already feeling like they have no other option ? or would it be a good idea ?

cause i know it wont fix everything after one meeting but wouldnt it better to be informed ?
