As title. I tried looking this up but had a lot of difficulty finding a clear answer. A peer of mine said it was no longer allowed.
I work in theater, and for a long time it was pretty common for there to be salary positions for part time work as staff for theater companies. There has been a trend, however, of making everything part time either independent contractor work or hourly. (Already most work in theater was one of these two things).
I recently accepted a position at a theater for 10-12 hours a week and they are paying me as a salaried employee. Is this still correct? I have no bad vibes and do not think there's any malicious intent in taking advantage of me, but if this arrangement is no longer legal in the state of Illinois I feel like I should say something.
