So I've been at the apartment I live in for 4 years. The first 2 years my landlord had me sign the lease (or updated one in year 2). But I haven't signed anything in the past 2 years now updated lease or anything. So I just got a letter saying they are gonna raise my rent. So I went out and found a better apartment for the same amount. I asked my current landlord how much advance notice I have to give to move out. She said 2 months. Is that correct? I was under the assumption that sonce I haven't signed an updated lease in 2 years then I'm basically month to month and i can move out when I want to. Any help with Rhode Island tenent law would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
