Edit tldr: Accident in Cny cop never asked me or my passengers for witness statements and gave me a ticket based off other driver and eyewitness that appeared magically nearby on the road. Looking for any help

Hey yall I was in an accident tonight and when it happened I'm very positive it was green as well as the people in my car. I was on a road that had an intersection and I was going through when a car cut across the road. I ended up hitting them on their passenger side and visually my car had more issues with it that hers. My entire front right of my car is essentially missing, my hood is cracked, my light was on the ground and I can't open my front passenger door. Everyone wa okay including me and my passengers as well as the person in the other car. She had no visual injuries and was the first thing I checked after making sure my passengers were safe. When the cop got there he talked to the other driver and an eye witness that appeared legitimately out of no where as my car and the other person car were the only ones around at the time. The cop talked to them and never came to talk to me or my passengers but when he did he came over said it was my fault and gave me a ticket. I was always told that the cops had to ask both parties when an accident happened but he never did and just gave me a ticket. Is he allowed to do that or did he not need to ask any of us about what happened? The ticket I was given was for running a red light and then the copy of the accident report. I have reached out to two places nearby that have cameras and am hoping for a reply. I'm a little sketched out about it because the lady hopped out of her car and as soon as I got out said it was my fault and told me to call the cops while she just stood there and stared at me. This is my first accident since I got my license and am 19m any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Also when it happened I slammed on my breaks with both feet and swerved which is why my car might be salvageable but at the same time it seems the lady sped up when it was happening and her family was there almost immediately like I mean maybe 5 minutes and luckily my brother was around and my dad drove very very quick to me to make sure I was allright.
