Long time lurker, first time poster but I’ve gotten myself involved in something a bit bigger than me and out of my wheelhouse and slightly overwhelming me rn.
I worked for a cbd/Kratom company as a gummy cook for the past year. They’re small business started but outgrew their pants real quick. They try to cut corners and skip licensing everywhere they can to save money which I get but they don’t follow osha or health dept. which I ain’t no snitch I can handle they aren’t the richest and are making shit works
Well they’ve shifted to more kratom 70h and are flaunting their money doing all kinds of building and the kitchen I work in has no ventilation. I made noise until they put a vent in. It’s a dummy vent.
So I start bothering about other safety issues. Then they changed the size of batch or gummies were lifting to get ver 50 lbs and our floors are resin art like those people do in rich homes. DANGEROUS for cooking and oil but whatever I digress.
I was going to get a new job bc the push pull and stupidity and stress was dumb to me and wearing on my mental health. So the company panicked and gave me a car to not lose me bc they were in transition to a new gummy machine.
Well they got their handyman to sell them a car for 1000 and they were selling me the car $50 a week out of my check. I’m paid weekly. Well 6 weeks down the road I realize the title has a lien of more than the car is worth and I can’t get either grown ass man to talk straight with me or handle the issue on the car and contract I’m actively continually paying on.
So I walked in to gettin fired last Wednesday. With three weeks severance and some dumb typed up contract releasing all liability or anything in the future.
I think I’m being retaliated on for wanting fair standards and a safe working environment. I didn’t even need the car.
Do I have a case or anything. I want to go to osha and say I got lied to and fired and to go inspect their site at minimum.
