First time dealing with a trust

Post Body

My grandma recently passed away and I was named a beneficiary in the trust. She was in Texas, I’m in Minnesota, and really the only family I have left on that side is now my uncle, who I’ve been talking to about some of this, but I’m basically just getting all my info from him — I’ve never seen the trust documentation nor did my grandma ever speak to me about any of this stuff before her passing.

I’ve never dealt with any of this before; not sure what I need to do as far as legal paperwork/documentation, taxes, etc etc. Should I request a copy of the trust? As a named beneficiary, am I entitled to it and/or do I need it for anything? This is all new to me so I just want to make sure I’m dotting all my i’s and crossing my t’s.
