Post Body

A copy and paste of the message that was sent after reaching out about why there was a late fee on my account

“Thank you for letting us know. It seems that the check was stolen and we have filed a report with the police. If you could please put a stop to your check and we will reimburse the charge for that. Once that is completed if you could rewrite a new check and let us know when the new one has been placed in the mail box we would greatly appreciate it. We apologize for the inconvenience. Management Team”

Other people claim this was the case for them as well and I’m not the only one. I feel like that’s totally unacceptable. I can’t imagine having that sensitive data in a thieve’s hands can end well. We’ve already had issues with the fact that there is no on-site manager and poor security and surveillance. We’ve had our mailboxes broken into twice.

Is there any type of legal advice the other tenants and myself should look into?
