doctor not submitting FMLA, what can i do?
Post Body

location is louisiana

earlier this month i admitted myself to a mental hospital following a severe depressive episode. my boss was aware of the situation, but HR still needs the physician who treated me to sign off saying that i needed the time off and am clear to return to work. i brought the form to the hospital just under a week ago and just got an email from HR saying they haven't received anything from that doctor yet.

i know for a fact that there are no physicians there now so i can't call about this until tomorrow, but honestly the way my entire stay was handled has me concerned that this just isn't going to get done. i don't necessarily think the doctor will refuse, but my confidence in her is shaken for a couple reasons, namely how uninvolved she was. like, when there aren't beds for adult psych, that hospital usually puts you with the detox patients. that's normal and wasn't really a big deal, except that the doctor wouldn't even read my chart and kept trying to go through detox meds and procedures with me even though i was not detoxing, was clearly listed as a psych patient in their system, and kept correcting her; i was even discharged with the detox resource packet instead of the information on programs i was told i'd be referred to. i understand that she was busy with a lot of patients to see but her lack of involvement in my care has me concerned that this paperwork won't get filled out by the time it's due (next week!!)

is there anything i can do besides call every day? i'm a bit freaked out. i've got my side of things submitted, so this is the last bit that i need done.
