(This happened in Missouri and all parties involved had Missouri license plates) So today two vehicles (a truck and car who were traveling together) were having road rage at us (my partner and I in our vehicle) for some reason? The truck tried to run us off of the road once while we were trying to merge onto the highway. After that, we were attempting to pass a separate uninvolved vehicle to get away from the road ragers. The car cut us off before we could pass and slammed on his breaks. Both the truck and car got in front of us, the car slammed his breaks so hard we had to swerve into the opposite lane to avoid hitting him and then the truck swerved over and attempted to push us off of the road. We lost control of the vehicle and it spun 8-10 times all over the road. We landed in the ditch on the side of the highway. The only visible damage to the vehicle is a crack in the windshield from the truck flinging rocks up and a scrape to the paint from when we landed in the ditch. We called the cops who sent Missouri highway patrol. The officer said the we could try to file a report but he doesn’t see the point of it. He looked up the license plate of the driver of the car (I had taken a picture because they were acting weird) and said they have a clean record. The officer said because there was no evidence there’s not really anything that can be done. There were skid marks on the road and our car does have minimal damage (and again I have a picture of one of the vehicles). The damage to the car is minimal so I am less concerned about that but I was just wondering if anything can be done about the people that almost killed us out of road rage or was the officer right and there is really nothing that can be done? I just feel like there can be something done. Thank you to anyone who might be able to help!
