Overtime pay and commission

Post Body

I work as a sales agent for an insurance company. I live in Minnesota. I get paid hourly as an W2 employee and also receive commission based on the amount of plans I sell. This time of year I work a significant amount of overtime. My most recent check I got paid my commission money (paid once a month) along with my regular hourly wages plus overtime. On my paystub nearly all of the overtime was deducted. When I asked my manager he stated that the company can deduct overtime pay if I make more than the overtime in commission. I was bothered by this but have no idea if it’s legal or not. I’m grateful for any advice or guidance on what to do next.
