Hello,

I am reaching out due to a situation that occurred today. I have a co-worker who is like a younger brother and was having some heart issues at work. During work I took him to the ER to get checked out, and picked him up when he got discharged. On our way back, I was in a quarter mile long stretch of cars that were in a middle lane waiting to turn left. All of the sudden, a truck comes out of nowhere and cuts me off in this line of cars so close he almost hit my car. I honked, and threw my hands up. I can see him in the car in front of me freaking out and appears to be yelling. Me and my coworker are just like wtf and the typical “people can’t drive” and moved on. We are waiting in line to turn for a few minutes, and finally get to the intersection maybe a mile down the road, this road is also backed up. The dude in front of me slams on his breaks. I honked again. He took his foot off the break, slams the breaks again, parks it and gets out his car. He immediately runs over to the side where my coworker is, as he stopped a backed up road of traffic and people were trying to drive past our cars, and my coworker got out of the car. After a few seconds I got out because all I heard was yelling, I walked around the back of my car and up to the man who was in my coworkers face. He is yelling at me “fuck you bitch I’ll f you up touch me and see what happens” and gets in my face. I put my hands on his chest as more of a “back off, go back to your car” and as soon as I touched him he grabs my arm where I am touching his chest and squeezes the shit out of it, and then punches me in the face. Me and my coworker both stop and I immediately said I was calling the police and he got in his car and left. I got a pic of his tag and he’s flicking me off in the picture after he punched me. I had a mark on my arm and face but they’ve went away as it wasn’t like a terrible assault. I know I shouldn’t have exited my car, but I have anxiety and my coworker is 22 and I am 27 and I didn’t want him to get hurt either. My cop friend thinks I can get charges in this situation, but I feel like that was crazy and I never looked like I was gonna hit him, and feel like it’s crazy he punched a woman over me honking at him twice.
