I’m an artist who’s recently started considering branching out to making NSFW art. I tend to draw fanart of characters, and I think I’d like to continue this trend. The issue is, a lot of the characters I like to draw are canonically (in their original source material) under 18 (although not usually by much). They look like adults, though, and when I draw I use adult bodies as references. There’s a lot of misinformation about this stuff online, and I just wanted to make sure I’m doing things as above board as possible.
Provided I state that a character is being portrayed as 18 , and I exclusively draw them such that a reasonable person would look at the art and think “that’s an adult”, am I at all at risk of facing issues related to obscenity law?
