Inaccurate Seller Disclosure

Post Body

Hi All. My partner and I bought a home this past spring in the Midwest. I want to start by saying we did have an inspection and our state does have a required sellers disclosure.

The sellers disclosure and inspection both came back unremarkable, no major issues.

Since we’ve moved it has come to our attention the home had active termites 6 months before we moved in and was know/treated by the seller (I do have proof). This was not disclosed though required by the state. I do not know the extent of the damage, infestation or repairs.

The other major issue we’ve found is a moisture/leak in our basement that we’ve been told the seller knew about (I do not have the physical proof of this one).

My question is there any legal recourse for these items or are we just out of luck? Also, if the company that worked on the home for the sellers has told us they “legally cannot discuss the home or repairs” with us is there a way to make them?
