Two years ago, my boyfriend wasn’t looking and crashed into a vehicle in front of him as the light turned red. They exchanged information, and got it all settled with the insurance. The counter party vehicle was unharmed and the passenger and driver both got out of the car to exchange information unharmed. My boyfriend just received a letter stating they are suing him for emotional damage, physical impairment, and loss of wages. They are asking for no more than a quarter of a million dollars. We are both students and in shock on what to do. Why would they file this two years later? And their vehicle and themselves were unharmed.
