Hello, so my “friend” dog bit me on the face in April 2023 while living in Virginia for college. I didn’t press charges out of fear the dog would be put down and pressure from the friend group/people pleaser tendencies.

I learned after the fact that the dog had lunged at others (the dog is a Rottweiler rescue), though I was the first to actually get hurt.

They did not pay for the initial stitches or laser treatments (800 each). I am now going to see a specialist doctor as the scar haunts me. However, the cost can be anywhere from 5,00-15,000. I can’t afford that. I want to ask them to pay some of the money.

Can I sue if they refuse to help?

I now live in Florida, and they live in Wisconsin. Thank you.
