Post Body

I work at in fast food in King County, Washington State. We very recently have been required to download an app for scheduling related items. The General Manager told my coworker that if he doesn't buy a phone and get on the app, he is off the schedule. He has bought the phone now and didn't really want to have it and is out several hundred dollars as well as that monthly bill. Phones are not required in our contracts. Since he was forced to get the phone for work purposes, is the company supposed to pay for it? If they are, how would we go about getting it covered legality-wise?
