Hello everyone. I’ll be straight to the point. I was committed to a mental institution about 7 years ago for a suicide attempt. My right to firearm ownership was thus stripped from me. I appealed for them back today and won. I am wondering how I am supposed to answer the question “have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective or have you ever been committed to a mental institution”. Obviously the answer is yes but I am not sure if I answer that truthfully and it will be shown that I have had my rights reinstated, or is that something that doesn’t show on my record and I answer “no” bc “yes” is an automatic decline of sale? I’m not sure it matters but I am in VA. Thanks.
