About two years ago my brother got into a fender bender. It was determined it was his fault but it wasn’t anything major as both cars had minor dents and still worked. Last month they sued both my brother and my parents as they were the owners of the vehicle at the time. All three are on the same insurance as well. Their auto insurance has been fighting the other people as they keep asking for insane amounts of money (almost half a million dollars). My parents are now worried that they could lose their home as they don’t have much money to pay them if the courts do decided against them. Is it possible for that to happen? They are in California.
