If I work for an insurance company and have indicated to my doctor that I smoke marijuana could they use that to fire me if seen on my records? In TX

Post Body

Iā€™m considering getting health coverage through my wfh job this year. I work for a third party that processes medical records and claims for a health insurance company. There is a specific team that works on employee medical records, so my direct coworkers would never see my records.

However, I do use cannabis outside of work hours. I am not in a recreationally legal state, and I did have to take a drug test before I was hired. I am honest with my doctors about my usage. If I purchase health coverage through my employer, could they terminate me if this information is in my medical records?

In TX, ty for any replies.
