I live in Maryland, USA. My uncle has a very bad drinking addiction and has been know to get angry and sad very easily. We once almost got into a physical fight before and I had to kick him off me to which he would always bring it up during a argument. Today we had several beers and vodka, he kept putting his hands on my cousin begging her to stop his arthritis pain, she obviously uncomfortable told him to stop, my sister and I immediately jumped to defend her and he backed off. After a while passed he started threatening that he would get his machete and slash me open. I didn't say anything to further push him to snapping, I was ready for a fight to the death in case it escalated but, another uncle stepped in to calm his brother down and goto his room. He eventually left but he kept yelling he can't stand me and he will kill me if he had the chance. He didn't put his hands on me but, I don't know if I can immediately press charges. What could/can I do?
