Post Body

My S/O and I have been together for almost 20 years. They are dealing with the end stages of cancer, maybe weeks or months. We do not know. We also have an amazing child together. I am on supplemental security income as I worked off the books jobs for years and got sick in my 20s so I never had a chance to esrn enough credit hours for disability. The question is should my s/o and I get married and social security benefits get paid out to our little one? We have no idea about any of this. The state we live in is Florida. I am currently working on a power of attorney so that is in place in case it is needed. We never married because she was a college aid recipient and it affected her loans and then because i received ssi.
