I travel for work and don't get my statements emailed to me. I've been away for 6 months and completely forgot about these tolls. They claimed to have made reasonable contact but no phone calls or emails were ever made, just physical mail. I come home this week to register a new vehicle and DMV account is on hold due to these tolls not being paid. Now, I get paying late fees. But how did $53 in tolls become $228 over 6 months?!?! Is this practice legal? Does anyone know of how/if this is worth fighting or getting a class action suit started? It feels like penalizing people who already dont have money. Based in Virginia
