After applying to the Canadian Military and passing all their tests, aptitude and psychological exam, I was rejected.
Because I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid, they required a form to be filled out and signed by my family doctor in regards to hyperactivity and if I was still on medication. At no point did they ask for anything other than that.
When I was younger I had some bouts with anxiety and depression, seeing a psychiatrist, but was never diagnosed with anything other than ADHD, and even had a recent session with a psychologist who claimed I suffered from none of the above and endorsed me for military service in a signed letter to my doctor.
Despite that, my doctor claimed he legally had to submit all my psych records if he were to sign the document.
He even made the mistake of accidently stating I currently suffer from anxiety and depression which on top led to my rejection.
Was he really legally required to submit all my records?
Any help would be appreciated as I have a British passport and I am planning on joining the British Military and don't want this to be an issue again.
Thanks!
