so about two weeks ago I was driving a company car and hit somebody in the back. It wasn’t a very hard collision or anything like that and we ended up sorting it out without calling the police or anything like that. The guy recently sent me an invoice for his car and it’s $8000 and I definitely don’t have $8000 to give up as I’m only 20 and in college. What should I do? Of course I would like to pay him his money, but unfortunately that’s something I don’t have. We’ve been in contact throughout the entire thing and he recently just sent me the invoice yesterday. no documentation was signed or anything like that and it was just more of a verbal agreement no police were on scene and We did not get a case number or anything like that.
