Had an accident, I was at fault and admitted it.
Other party lawyered up and claimed injury. I provided my insurance my dashcam video as well as pics of damage. My insurance denied their claim saying the accident wasn't big enough to cause injury, as it was just a fender bender. I, myself, wasn't injured, so I guess they figured the other party wouldn't be injured either.
The EMTs who arrived at the scene confirmed with me that the other party was not injured, and then left. The other party left as soon as police arrived and didn't bother talking to them. I stayed and documented everything and spoke to both police and EMTs.
Insurance said that if the other party tried to sue me, to contact them and they'd handle it. I haven't heard anything about it in a while, so I hope they dropped it. I don't think they realized I had a dash cam until, I assume, their lawyer told them there was footage.
Can they still come after me? Should I also get a lawyer? Should I go after them legally for trying to screw me over? Do they have any other courses of action they can take? Not sure what to do or expect.
TLDR: At fault fender bender. Other party claims injury, but my dashcam shows it was a small accident and my insurance denied their claim. Wondering what to do if they try to come after me.
