My parents gifted both myself and my husband the down-payment on our home. I found the document this last week and it does say daughter and son-in-law. We were married at the time of gifting and purchasing. In the event we divorce will this have any bearing on whether I "get" the house as people like to say? NY state. Equal salaries until recently where he is choosing not to work. I have not been married previously so apologies if my nomenclature is stupid. His first wife walked away from their house in a separate state without any legal issue so I am not sure what the route will be.
