Should I take legal action against a stalker whose behavior is getting concerning?
Post Body

I went on a few dates with someone. She made me uncomfortable, so I stopped talking to her.

She started freaking out a couple months ago sending me obsessive, deranged, and angry messages. I talked to her, and I thought I had ended it and that she would leave me alone, but last night she lost it. I was out with my partner, so I just ignored it at first, but she sent me over 130 messages. Many of them were sexually propositions about my partner, insults towards my partner, and uncomfortable pleading to meet my family (I'm helping my partner with her daughter.)

She also threatened to sue me for the dates she paid for, get a restraining order and a PFA against me unless I loan her money.

This person knows the street I live on, and she lives very close by. She also has hinted towards trying to get close to people who know me just so she can get to me.

I'm concerned for my family's safety. This person got out of a mental hospital a few weeks ago, or so she said, and she made violent comments about wanting to pay me to "legally slit her throat."

It's just been words so far, but I don't know what she's capable of.

Should I just ignore this, or would it be appropriate to take legal action?
