Driver hit spot that is already damaged

So I was driving today and a driver hit my front right bumper, which was previously damaged from another accident. Ik I have legal recourse over the hit and run aspect, tho it’s difficult to mitigate how much damage he did as it was already damaged and looks about the same. His car had a small dent and scratch so not sure what I can do.
