The situation I am unexpectedly ânot allowedâ to return to the preschool I worked at before starting this job 10/7 due to an issue the school failed to communicate to me directly (that I âcomplained to their officeâ which I took to be in reference to the fact that I contacted hr requesting employees receive safety training after realizing I needed it when there was a brief incident with the student who was actually going to be my client at new job.) I was supposed to cone back to the school today. I had contacted HR (who simply forwarded my email to my former boss) because there had been an incident wherein a student I worked with wrapped their arms around my neck a few times. I was surprised by how hard it was and felt I should have been trained to handle that.
I was worried this meant the program director was going to go âoh, sheâll be bad for our company.. fired!â I donât get that vibe, though. I was explicitly told yesterday by business operations manager after we met about the issue that I am not fired. The program director responded to my email this morning wherein I mentioned how much Iâm enjoying my time here and asked for aba study guide suggestions with âIâm happy to hear that youâve been having a good experience!â and gave me an app suggestion for the RBT exam. I thought being taken off the clientâs case would lead to a firing, especially seeing as how I was hired with the intent being that Iâd fill in for that client in particular (needed more hours) and clientâs parents, who I guess changed their minds and are fine with me not being on the case (the communication on everyoneâs part was bad, so I actually donât have a clear idea of what changed so quickly) were the ones who actually referred me to this program. Iâm just glad that the director isnât unreasonable and judgmental enough to decide Iâll just be bad for business.
