In December of 2023 I was beaten by my drunk girlfriend. As a man, I did not fight back out of fear of legal consequences, and just took an awful, extended beating. Cops were called by a neighbor, and my (now ex) girlfriend got arrested before I was even interviewed by police.
The cops took multiple pictures of my injuries. I really want copies of these photos. I was pretty traumatized by this whole event so I didn't take any pictures of my injuries, I just curled into a ball and didn't leave my apartment for anything but work for 2 weeks.
My ex-girlfriend works for the same company as me, and she has been telling co-workers how she is a victim and an innocent person. She claims that I was hardly injured and that she acted in self-defense. This is an absolute lie, but now I'm being treated differently at work. I want to be able to show people the extent of my injuries instead of having to plead a case. Am I allowed to get pictures that those officers took? Am I able to share those pictures with anyone who questions me about the incident?
