I got into an accident and I thought I had car insurance (Tesla Insurance) the entire time. I apparently have been driving my car around for 4 months and had no idea the insurance had lapsed because I lost my credit card that was on file for auto payments and so I got a new credit card and forgot to update my account.
I only got sent 2 emails, one because the payment didn't go through since the lost credit card was cancelled. Second one said my insurance has now been cancelled. Both of the emails ended up in my spam folder because they look like spam. They are so grayed out and weirdly fonted, idk why teslas emails are always so hard to read with gray colored font.
Anyways I never received any mail, no call, no text at all regarding this and then someone hit my car (not my fault) and their insurance is only covering $5000 due to policy limits. I'm wondering if I can sue my insurance for not properly notifying me as I had auto payments set up.
