Friend wants to use my address as his residence—legal/tax concerns with lease agreement?
Post Body

Hey Reddit,

I live in Texas, and I have a friend who’s a nomad without a permanent address. He needs an official address and has asked to use mine. He’s offering to pay me a couple hundred dollars each month, and we are planning to sign a lease agreement to make it formal.

While I’m okay with helping him out, I’m wondering if there are any potential legal concerns or tax implications I should be aware of. I’m not planning to rent out space in my home, he just needs the address, but I’d like to make sure I don’t get into trouble with the law or IRS.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
