Post Body

I’m a subletter who took on someone else’s role on the lease and let’s just say it’s not working out. So here are all the legal details. I requested a copy of the lease (I’m not on the lease at all) I remember I did initial on a email which I believe just made me a resident because there wasn’t anything to read it was just initial here and there that’s it I haven’t even signed my name at all. The lease ends 4/30/25. But I do not want to be there until then at all. I opened my app and I am a resident so from my knowledge a resident is basically month to month and can leave if they went but also have rights to the property been there over 30 days can’t just kick me out. I have payed my rent and everything I just hate it there. You can read my other post if you want more of the details. So I then wondered okay is there and agreement that I signed between me and the Tenant, no I never signed anything with her at all, there’s only text messages. And I asked her SPECIFIC questions over text I.E example can I smoke in the apartment and she said yes all the time she does it but as I’m reading the lease it says clearly NO SMOKING ON THE PREMISES. Not even a vape. No space heaters but my roommates refuse to turn the heat on so am I supposed to freeze ? So I was told false information from here about the lease that I’m just now reading ? I need to know my options here just to re iterate I AM NOT ON THE LEASE IM NOT A TENENT
