Can a roommate be evicted without cause?

Post Body

I own my apartment in a coop. My roommate has been paying me monthly rent for 12 years.

I no longer want to live with him or anyone. I've asked him to leave multiple times over the years and always wind up caving and just forgetting about it.

He was recently gone for a month and it was glorious. He's been back for one day and I immediately want him gone.

Is it possible to evict him just because?

He pays me rent generally on time. But he spends entire days drunk and it stresses me out. More than once I've come home to a messes in my kitchen from him cooking drunk, or worse ruined pots because he started cooking and passed out so all the water in the pot boils away.

I am in New York.
