Dealership has had my new car for a month and a half.
Post Body

On August 4th I traded in my car and got a new one. Dealership handled everything with my sale and I signed and picked up the car after work (which was at night).

The car is black, and I didn’t notice the paint imperfections before leaving the dealership. I contacted my sales person the next day and was told to bring it back for repair. Originally, I was told that it may take 2 weeks to get to, so they got me a rental from enterprise.

At week 2, they called me back and told me that the paint techs from ford had to come down to look at the paint and it was finally at the body shop, as they had to repaint all the way down from the metal. She also mentioned that it was an issue with several models and they had to take 20 out of inventory for the same issue, after another person brought theirs back.

Today I got a text stating I would get my car on Friday, which was the same text I got last week. It has now been a month and a half and 1 rental, 2 loaners (that I have to switch out every two weeks) and 2 car payments later. I called the finance company and they said their hands are tied. Is there a legal way to return this vehicle and wash my hands of it?

This is in Florida and it was a brand new 2024 model, not used.
