Florida - (I’ll try to be concise but not omit pertinent details) My brother, wife and three kids moved across country in July into a house bought by my aunt (wheelchair bound widow) with a agreement to split living expenses and provide assistance to her for which she is currently paying $30k annually to an aid. Aunt never moved to FL and has no decided she doesn’t want to go and her name only is on the deed of the house (lien exists against the house from private lender). She did not decide not to go until two months after brother sold his home, quit job and moved his family trusting she was good to her word. We were trying to get a lease agreement put in place but Aunt is now back to the idea of selling which would make my unemployed brother and his family homeless without high odds of finding a landlord to rent to them without employment (he is slowly working through a county hiring process which seem promising but dreadfully slow). Does he have any legal protection from just being booted out of the house?
