Post Body

Hello,

Based in California. Long story short, I closed a huge deal and my company is now refusing to payout the rightful amount due to an obscure "windfall clause" that is 1 brief paragraph long essentially saying "we can withhold your payout for any reason".

There are no further details, they didn't offer any "why" other than literally just saying "it's just too much money" and even admitted that I deserve to be paid the full amount but they won't do it.

I looked online and saw that a few cases in Massachusetts were ruled in the favor of the company but I live in CA so it might be different? I also know about a dozen other people were affected for similar reasons.

Am I shit out of luck or do I have legal recourse?
