Nothing happened to MY cat, I'm trying to protect other pets by reporting the product in question to whatever government agency needs to be contacted.
It's a self-cleaning litter box, but this particular design rotates the barrel upwards against a fixed entry hole, which "closes" the entry hole. The issue is that the machine turns the barrel with enough force to injure or even kill the cat if he gets caught in the opening. That's already an egregiously flawed design right there. What makes it even worse is that the alleged "safety sensors" have failed to work on more than one occasion, with disastrous results. Often the sensors won't work even when it was new.
I can't contact the manufacturer because it's a generic product, so my only option was to contact the online store it's sold on. The problem is that every time the store or MFG themselves takes down the litter box, it then gets relisted under a different name, but it's clearly the same design-and none of the online stores have anyone that's savvy enough to notice that it's the same design. In some cases, it gets relisted twice, with different colors or different brand names that are always just made up words like sdfurom or something like that.
With no way to contact the MFG, and contacting the store being worse than useless, the only option left is to get a government agency involved.
Who do I call?
