My fiancé was involved in a "hit and run" unintentionally and is being faced with a misdemeanor

Post Body

This happened in southeast Michigan at around 11 30 pm. My fiancé was driving at night when a bicyclist made an illegal crossing and ended swerving into the side of her car. Fiancé didn't know she got hit because the impact didn't make a loud noise ( the damage was a small dent and small straight line of a scratch ) and drove away about a mile when a witness flagged her down and said she hit the lady one the bike. She turns around to check on the woman, and the woman yells at her that it was "partially her fault" and that she's fine and to just leave, and she won't call the police. ( turns out the cops were already on their way but she didn't know ) An hour later the cops are at her door and we have to go to the station to talk to the police. We are told the witness called them and that the lady is in the hospital ( we don't know what for but I'm pretty sure it was nothing bad ). She has a court date on the 23rd and is being charged for a misdemeanor on "failure to stay on scene and yield" or something like that ( basically a hit and run ) the police report even states that both the victim and driver made a MUTUAL agreement to not contact the police. This is her first offense. From the looks of it, it seems her case is tight and she doesn't have anything to worry about, but a fine is a possibility ( $1000 max )and points on her insurance.

That is all the details I know atm. I wanted to post this to see if anyone has gone through something similar or has an idea of what might happen. We are trying to get a lawyer and are selling the car to help pay for fees and stuff like that. the car had problems anyway so best to fix it up best we can and get rid of it. That is all. How bad does this situation seem ?
