External Internet cables cut, what do I do?
Post Body

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm a little freaked out. My Internet has been out for a couple days and today I was finally able to get someone out to come fix it. It turns out the cables on the outside of the house, in my fully fenced backyard have all been cut. Even the one leading directly to the telephone poles (or whatever they are). I live in a townhouse which has 1 neighborhoring unit that shares a wall with mine. It has been vacant since last month as the previous tenants all moved out and the owner is showing the place to new tenants. I don't understand how or why this would even happen and I have no idea what I should do in this situation. I have filed a police report online and am thinking, should I call my landlord and inform them? What else should I be doing? I'm not worried for my own safety as my roommate and I are both large men and I do own a gun for self defense. My worry is moreso what's going on when I'm not home during the work week and for my dog that is home alone when my roommate and I are at work.

I'd appreciate any help I can get here, I've dealt with weirdos before but never to the extent of someone accessing and messing with my home. I don't even see why anyone would cut my Internet cable and leave them like that.
