Mother had gun taken then plead gulty to felony possession

My mother was arrested for felony possession of schedule 2,3,4 and 5 drugs. She plead guilty to the charges and is now a felon . She had a Bersa thunder that was confiscated at the time of her arrest. This happened about 8 or 9 years ago. Local PD still has the firearm in evidence. Is there anyway I can get it in my name or transfer it to me? This all happened in Mississippi.
