Post Body

My friend got suspended for a social media account and the principal told her to give her phone to a teacher because of some innappropriate pictures she had on her phone. She had deleted these pictures prior to getting in trouble, but someone tipped off the principal and police about both the account and the pictures, which is why she had to give her phone to the teacher. The teacher gave it to the police, but without telling my friend or her parents first. They have had her phone since Wednesday, and still haven't returned it. We are in Pennsylvania, and my friend is a minor. We both think that they have kept the phone because they are waiting on a warrant. However, both of us are unsure if this is legal or not because my friend wasn't told her phone was going to the police until AFTER she gave it to the teacher. She just wants to know if they are allowed to keep her phone while waiting on a warrant. This is a very brief summary of it all, and thank you all for your help!
